The Salvation Army in Collinwood Area Loves Beyond Difficult Situations
Cleveland, Ohio – (March 29th, 2022): The Salvation Army in the Collinwood area, located at 17625 Grovewood Ave, has been inspired by the love shown by their congregation. The past few months have plagued many of their fellow community members with severe health concerns, which have left them isolated. The Salvation Army has been working on a program, led by one of their Senior Soldiers, to collect, prepare, and deliver highly personalized care packages to their community members in need.
“This is a small program that provides a large impact to these individuals. Each of the care packages includes word puzzle books, cards with personal written handwritten notes, snacks, small handmade pillows, and other items to offer comfort and let them know they are loved. We want to ensure that our community members know that they are not alone. They are loved,” stated Captain Diana Rodriquez, Corps Officer The Salvation Army in Cleveland Temple.
This year, love is a primary focus for The Salvation Army, launching a national “Love Beyond” campaign this past Valentine’s Day.
“Love Beyond” is an excellent reminder of why we as The Salvation Army do the ministry that we do. The campaign is rooted in the Bible passage from 1 Peter 4:8, “Above All, Love.” We will be here to support, care, and love our members in good times and bad times. We love our community, no matter what.” said Rodriquez.
