AliceMy name is Alice , and I am 89 years old.

Earlier this year, during the winter months, my heating bill was much higher than usual. I’m rather frail these days and get cold easily.

Well, being on a fixed income, I just didn’t have the money to pay my bill. I was so afraid my heat would be turned off. My kind neighbor, Joe, said he thought The Salvation Army could help, and offered to drive me there.

The people at The Salvation Army were so nice and thoughtful. They got right on the phone with the utility company and took care of the payment. I had never asked for help like this before, and I apologized and apologized. But they told me not to be discouraged, that they were here to help. I was overwhelmed to tears. All I could say was, “Thank you, thank you.”

The Salvation Army has been around a lot longer than me. I’m so glad they are still here when people like me need a little help. God bless them.
