Before or after the Community Corps worship service, a Sunday School class may be offered in a more informal and personal time of study in God's Word. The mission of The Salvation Army Sunday School program is the salvation and nurturing of young people and adults to the honor and glory of God as well as building relationships within the body of Christ. This objective is achieved through the spiritual disciplines of scripture study and memorization, prayer and accountable relationships. Sunday School is both evangelistic and educational.
Junior Soldiers are children between the ages of 7-13 who have professed Jesus Christ as their Savior and have signed the junior soldier’s promise, becoming a "Salvationist". Junior Soldiers utilizes the Totally His curriculum while Honor Junior Soldiers prepares children for the next step of leadership in their local corps.
A Corps Cadet is a young Salvationist who is at least 13 years old or in the 7th grade who undertakes a course of Bible study and leadership training in order to grow spiritually and become better equipped for effective service in The Salvation Army.
