Welcome to The Salvation Army Ohio Warren Corps Page

The Salvation Army in Warren is dedicated to the men, women, and children we serve. Covering the north and eastern part of Ohio, we work everyday to elevate individuals up from despair to provide hope and assistance. In teaching life skills, we provide individuals with an opportunity to maximize their physical, emotional and spiritual being to effect permanent change.

Programs & Services | Meeting basic needs of all who come seeking help

With 'heart to God and hand to man', The Salvation Army strives to meet the basic needs of all who come seeking help. Taking immediate care of the basic human needs of food, shelter, clothing and safety is an important first step in the development of a more positive and permanent life change in the people we help.

It is essential to note that at no time the participation in spiritual activities be required as a condition for receiving needed services. All service given in the name of Jesus for meeting human needs and caring for hurting persons is in and of itself valued and is a spiritual ministry.

For more information about the following programs and services, please call  (330) 392-1573.

Emergency Food Pantry: The Salvation Army operates an Emergency Food Pantry. No appointment is necessary – first come – first served. Clients can only receive assistance once a month and must have a photo ID and proof of residence showing current address. Only one application accepted per household. Assistance is available Monday - Friday: 9:30am -11:30am | Mondays - Thursdays: 1:00pm - 2:30pm

Utility Assistance: When funds are available assistance for electric or gas is done by appointment only.

Soup Kitchen: According to Feeding America, more than 48.8 million people face the threat of hunger daily in the United States. To help mitigate that threat, The Salvation Army Warren Corps normally operates a Soup Kitchen on the last five working days of the month from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (excluding November and December). However, due to COVID-19, this service is suspended and meals are being served from 11:30am – 1:00 pm at St. Vincent DePaul on Niles Road.

Hot Showers: Most of us take regular baths and showers - and take that habit for granted. But for a small number of people who are between jobs, homes or living in substandard apartments, hot water and a bar of soap can be cherished commodities. Showers are free to anyone in need on weekdays 9:30 am - 2:00 pm. Due to COVID-19, this service is temporarily suspended.

Mental Health Drop-In Center: The Salvation Army, in keeping with its mission statement, offers a full range of programs, activities and services designed to meet the needs of all people, including those with mental health disabilities. The Drop-In Center is an informal setting for socialization, education, and peer support. The center is open Monday - Friday: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. Participation requires prior registration. Due to COVID-19, this program is being conducted virtually.
