WHAT WE DO : WORSHIP AND SPIRITUAL RESOURCES

Spreading The Word To Everyone We Help

Salvation Army worship centers reflect the vitality of a living God to a needy world. Through our worship centers, The Salvation Army brings to life the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

While many equate the Salvation Army with social services and the red kettle, the first and most important purpose of the Salvation Army is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to lead everyone to the Lord. The Salvation Army's doctrine follows the mainstream of Christian belief and its articles of faith emphasize God's saving purposes.

Salvation Army officers are ordained ministers, overseeing the religious and social ministries of The Salvation Army in their area.  All are welcome to worship our living, loving God.

The Salvation Army also provides Christian education for youth and adults during Sunday morning worship services. Anyone is welcome to attend. Some programs we offer:

Church - The Salvation Army is a church offering Sunday school for children, Sunday Worship Service, Junior Church and Bible Study. Parents and their children are welcome to join us in celebrating God and learning more about Him.

Women's Ministries - The goal of The Salvation Army's Women's Ministries is to bring women into the knowledge of Jesus Christ, encourage their full potential pertaining to family, friends and community, equipping them for growth in personal understanding and in life skills, and to address issues that affect women and their families around the world.

Bible Study - Join a Bible Study that dives deep into God's Word and how His Word is relevant for today! Times and days are different depending on the Community Corps in your area.

Sunday School - Before or after the Community Corps worship service, a Sunday School class may be offered in a more informal and personal time of study in God's Word.  The mission of The Salvation Army Sunday School program is the salvation and nurturing of young people and adults to the honor and glory of God as well as building relationships within the body of Christ. This objective is achieved through the spiritual disciplines of scripture study and memorization, prayer and accountable relationships. Sunday School is both evangelistic and educational.

Men's Fellowship - The Salvation Army offers this time to address the unique issues of male identity, character development, and leadership. Through this fellowship they can organize community service projects, special events, and weekend retreats. Issues of substance abuse, resisting street violence, relationships, and more can be addressed freely in this guided peer to peer setting. Men are welcome and encouraged to exercise their integrity and promote well-being for themselves and others as they develop and employ important leadership skills.

Spiritual Resources

Daily Bible Reading
Daily Bible reading is the source of truth, the standard for meaningful life, the revelation of Jesus Christ, the key to true freedom and liberty, and true food for man's soul. Daily reading is vital to having a relationship with God and learning who He is, His character and what he wants from us. Link:  http://www.biblegateway.com/

The Importance of Prayer : 24/7
24-7 is a non-stop prayer meeting across many nations and Christian traditions. Participating groups pledge to pray 24-hour-a-day in a fixed location for anything between a week and a month, and then they “carry the baton of prayer” for that period. The prayer-meeting flows between locations linked by the World Wide Web. Right now, someone somewhere is praying as part of the 24-7 prayer project.
