The Salvation Army of Northwest Ohio Area Services invites you to join us in the 6th Annual Red Kettle Relay, 5K, and Family Fun Run on November 16.

When and Where:

  • Date: Saturday, November, 16, 2019 before the Blade Holiday Parade
  • Location: The Blade Parking Lot at Jackson and Superior, Toledo, OH 43604 

Registration and Packet Pickup: 

  • Pre-registration Packet Pickup: November 14, 2019, 4-7 p.m., Dave's Running in Perrsyburg 
  • Race-day Registration and Packet Pickup: November 16, 7:30 a.m.-8:15 a.m.

Start Times:

  • 5K and Relay: 8:30 a.m.
  • Family Fun Run: 9:15 a.m. 

As the parade starts at 10:00 a.m., all participants must be able to finish the 5K within 1 hour. 


Mail-in registration forms must be received by November 1. 

Online registration is open until November 13.

5K (3.1 Miles) Run, 5K Relay (Teams of 3), and Family Fun Run.

5K Run (Timed Event)- Start at Jackson and Superior, runs along a a new route downtown. 

5K Relay (Timed Event)– A 3-person team, with each participant running 1/3 of the overall distance. The final team member will finish the course near Jackson and Huron.

$5 Family Fun Run– An event for the whole family! This 500-meter race is a great opportunity to be active with your family.

  • Overall Male & Female and Master’s Male & Female

  • Top three finishers in Male & Female Age Groups—9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & older

5K Relay Awards

  • Top team(s) in the following categories:

Shirts & Refreshments

  • Register by November 1 to receive a t-shirt. A limited number of shirts will be available for participants who register after 11/1. The cost of the t-shirt is not included in the Family Fun Run, but Family Fun Run participants can purchase t-shirts online for an additional cost.

  • A limited number of race shirts will be available for purchase day-of-event.

  • Refreshments will be available at the start/finish.



  • The Vistula Parking garage is closest to the start area and registration taking place in The Blade parking lot

We cordially invite you to participate in our fifth annual Red Kettle Run. This event both promotes our Red Kettle campaign and serves as a kickoff for Red Kettle season. Through our annual Red Kettle Campaign, we work hard to raise funds to support our programs and services which include: utility, rent, food, diaper, prescription and clothing assistance. In 2018, The Salvation Army served over 29,000 individuals in Northwest Ohio.
